            justify;"><span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:Verdana;color:#000000;background-color:transparent;font-weight:700;font-style:normal;font-variant:normal;text-decoration:none;vertical-align:baseline;white-space:pre-wrap;">Resumen</span><span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:Verdana;color:#000000;background-color:transparent;font-weight:400;font-style:normal;font-variant:normal;text-decoration:none;vertical-align:baseline;white-space:pre-wrap;">: Close binaries consisting of compact helium stars (hot subdwarfs) and massive white dwarfs have been proposed as possible progenitors of thermonuclear supernovae via the so-called double-detonation channel.  </span></p>
          <p dir="ltr"
            style="line-height:1.2;margin-top:0pt;margin-bottom:0pt;text-align:
            justify;"><span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:Verdana;color:#000000;background-color:transparent;font-weight:400;font-style:normal;font-variant:normal;text-decoration:none;vertical-align:baseline;white-space:pre-wrap;">While the white dwarf is completely destroyed by the supernova, the  hot subdwarf companion is ejected at a velocity, that can be high enough for the star to become unbound to our Galaxy (hypervelocity star). I will report about an ongoing project to search for the close binary progenitors and the hypervelocity star companions ejected by thermonuclear supernovae.</span></p>
